Wednesday Night Youth Group-  Youth Building, 6:30-8:00pm
Knowing God:  “A lot of people these days would say they believe in God. Many would also say they are Christians. So why is it so difficult to find people who are truly living lives that reflect a genuine life-change—a genuine desire to follow and become more like Christ? Well, for most its because they don’t really know the One they claim to have faith in. This winter/spring on Wednesday nights we’ll be exploring who God is on two major levels—Infinite and Intimate. God is the Creator. He’s everywhere, all-knowing, all-seeing—all of that really huge, amazing stuff. But God also desires to know us intimately—to have an actual relationship with us. If we miss that, we miss everything. But what does that relationship look like and how does it relate to students right now in 2010? Can God really relate and speak to the challenges and struggles students face every day? That’s where we’re going with this series! We hope to see you there!”

Parents: Does this sound familiar? Parent: “So what did you talk about at youth group tonight?” Child: “Uh, not much. Something about some guy in the Bible.” We believe that it’s incredibly important to engage with your child following L1. Click the link for the Small Group questions we discuss. This gives you a specific guide for a post-youth group discussion.

  Sunday morning classes:

  • Survey of the Old Testament
  • During Sunday 1st and 2nd service (9:30am and 11am)
  • Youth Center

We believe that Jr. High is a crucial time in a student's spiritual development. We have a four-phase process (Accept, Connect, Serve, and Lead) to guide them as they strive to become more like Christ. We help guide youth through the process of accepting the grace and truth of Jesus, connecting with others, serving in ministry, and becoming leaders.

Our desire at Harpeth Community Church is for every Jr. High student to understand the "basics" of Christianity when they enter High School. To assist with this process, students experience an interactive survey of both the Old and New Testaments in our Sunday morning classes.

We believe that students need to connect with each other in a safe and encouraging environment on a weekly basis. Because of this, we have girls and guys small groups that meet on Wednesday evenings. Small groups are where bible study, discussion, accountability, and prayer take place. We also strongly believe in developing student leaders, so these small groups are led by 10th-12th grade students, each having an adult overseer, which we call a "coach."

Leading isn't just for adults!! Jr. High students are encouraged to serve, especially in the Youth ministry. Whether it's assisting a teacher on a Sunday morning or leading a group of kids during VBS, our students are learning about the importance of leadership!
