These 5 core values undergird everything we do as a church:

1. We value the lordship of Jesus. We are a community of disciples who are surrendered to Jesus, finding our life, purpose, and strength in the person of Jesus Christ. (Galatians 2:20, Philippians 2:9-11)

2. We value the authority of the Scriptures. The Bible is the basis for understanding who God is and who we were intended to be. All of our beliefs and practices are rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12)

3. We value the priority of relationships. We want everyone at Harpeth to engage in life-on-life relationships that are grounded in love because this is the ideal environment for making disciples of Jesus. (John 13:34-35, Acts 2:42-47)

4. We value the balance of grace and truth. Jesus embodies both qualities, and we want to do the same. Grace without truth is deceptive. Truth without grace is harsh. Grace and truth together leads to transformation. (John 1:14, Ephesians 4:15-16)

5. We value the power of love. The trademark of a biblical church is love. God expresses his love through us to provide redemption and restoration to anyone who is willing to receive it. (1 Peter 4:8, 1 John 4:7-21)
