Men's Ministry

At Harpeth Community Church, we try to keep our Men’s Ministry simple.

We strive to adhere to the simple definition of Biblical Authentic Manhood:

REJECT PASSIVITY – ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY

LEAD COURAGEOUSLY – EXPECT GOD’S GREATER REWARD

This definition was modeled by Jesus and is backed up by Scripture. Men must face this challenge and do their very best to live up to it. Many men today are searching for what it means to really be a "man" but what the world is saying to us is wrong!  Harpeth Men's Ministry strives to equip men to live lives of authentic manhood by creating disciples in relational environments.  Here are 3 simple ways to do that:

1.     HOME GROUPS – where men can be with a smaller body of believers with their wives (if married) and have the opportunity to become close to the men in their group.  We encourage every group to break out in the same-sex groups periodically and study what God’s word says about our roles.  This might be through a Bible Study or a specific book study on topics like fatherhood, sexual integrity, biblical manhood, accountability, leadership, etc.

2.     MEN’S ONLY GROUPS – these groups are designed for men who are not currently enrolled in a small group or simply looking for an opportunity to connect with men and go deeper into topical studies that speak to men’s design and our roles as Christian men in today’s world.  Like Home Group break-outs, these groups might do a Bible Study or a specific book study on topics like fatherhood, sexual integrity, biblical manhood, accountability, leadership, etc.

3.     MEN’S EVENTS – these events are typically quarterly and have different looks each time.  All of them are geared toward connecting men in order to disciple one another.  These events have consisted of: dinners, breakfasts, sports activities (like this year's HoopFest), overnight retreats, mission work, service and more. We typically bring in an outside speaker or a Harpeth member to share some key insights or their story with men.

HoopFest was a huge success for Year One…..over 75 dads and kids played basketball, hung out, got injured, ate, rocked out to some tunes, and had a great time….despite crummy weather.  Thanks to all who helped and to our sponsors: Chick-Fil-A on Columbia Ave, Franklin Family YMCA, Nashville Predators, Spring Hill Florist & Gifts, Logo Chairs, and of course Harpeth Community!  HoopFest 2013 is tenitavely scheduled for Sunday, June 2, 2013.  More info soon!

Men's Leadership Event:  April 19-20 at HCC campus.  Comedian Lee Bayless, Christian Speaker Tim Davis, Bob Harrington, and a surprise guest!  Friday night 7-10pm, Saturday Morning 8-11am.  Music, food, laughs, and teachings just for men, from some great guys! No registration required - just show up!
